Morning movement classes to start your days powerfully
of Embodied in Motion
Dear Fellow Human Adventurers,
What difference would in make in your day, your year, your life, if you were starting your mornings with energy and a deep connection to what matters most to you?
In my - albeit biased ;) - opinion, there is NOTHING more powerful to do this then an intentional movement practice.
Whether you are someone who already has a sense of the magical power of movement to energize & inspire you or you are new to the idea, I invite you to take advantage of this VERY low cost opportunity to try it out for yourself, from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
What can a creative and intentional movement practice do for you?
How many people do you know who go to the gym on a regular basis? Maybe YOU even go to the gym on a regular basis...
While it's true that regular trips to the gym are a good thing, a movement practice that is also intentional and creative, has the ability to tick so many other boxes as well.
Here are just a few of the I've experienced myself and heard from students of mine and the benefits you can expect:
Improve your mood
Increase your energy
Increase your productivity
Feel more confident
Connect to your intuition
Sharpen your decision making abilities
Increases the joy you experience on a daily basis
Increase your emotional resiliency - your ability to move through challenging feelings more quickly
Greater ease at connecting with others
Increase your levels of physical fitness
Decrease physical discomfort, tension and pain
Improve your posture
What if you were to experience even just a few of these benefits on a consistent basis? How would that affect your life and what you could achieve over time?
What the heck IS a movement class anyways?
What will we be doing? And what do I need to attend?
If you've never done an 'intentional movement' class before and are feeling in the dark as to what the heck that even means... do not despair!
For one, you are NOT alone and that is absolutely NOT a reason to feel like the experience isn't for you ;).
For two, here's what - at least in this case - a 'movement class' is like and is likely to include:
We usually start the class slowly, with some guided body awareness exercises to help you shift from thinking (or sleeping ;) ) into FEELING the sensations of your body.
We will then typically do some movement that is guided but exploratory in nature. That means I will rarely say "do this step", or "put your body in exactly this shape". It DOES mean I will give you direction on where to put your attention to explore how your body moves and how your body feels as it moves. For examply I might say, "arch, curve and twist your spine. Look for the range of motion that is most limited and see if you can expand this".
From here the direction will vary but stay relatively in the same degree of openness. You may be guided to move a particular body part, a particular range of motion, a particular quality etc. You can count on consistent guidance but also room and direction to investigate what feels best to you in that moment.
There will be music playing throughout class as I give direction. A specific soundtrack/playlist is specifically designed for each class to support your movement exploration. You will get the link to this on the member's page.
To attend, you will need...
A computer, phone or tablet and an internet connection
At least enough open floor space to lay a yoga mat down (more is great though if you have it)
...that's it ;).
Ok... there are a few other things that can be helpful or advantageous to your experience. You can find out more about those on the member's site.
A movement class, online... really?
If you are anything like me, you love being in presence, you love to touch, breathe and feel the experience. You love being in community, connected with others, AND...
...your calendar is full, you're negotiating a lot of different priorities, people and projects and finding time for anything additional is not easy.
Let's be honest - what are you more likely to be consistent with?
A class that is thirty minutes long, that you can access from the comfort and convience of your own home? That you can watch the recording of if you miss?
Or something you have travel to and can only benefit from if you are in the same place all of the time and able to carve out two hours or more on a weekly basis?
Also - in my experience I can feel just as connected when meeting people via an online platform. I have found that far more important then being in person is how consistent I am with showing up and participating.
The beauty of connecting online is that it makes being consistent and connected with others easy, convenient and affordable.
It also means that you can benefit from the structure, accountability, quality guidance and the energy of the group all from the comfort of your own home... wherever in the world that happens to be at the time!
How does it all work? How do I get moving?

Ruth’s powerful, yet loving and gentle presence facilitates a safe container for movement, expression and connection.
Her class is a nourishing blend of grounding, playfulness and connection with others.
Since I began attending Ruth’s classes, I’ve become more attuned to my body. I continue to make healthier choices as I become more responsive to what my body wants and needs.
No matter what state I show up in, after a few minutes of class, almost unfailingly I find myself settling into the living presence within my body. There hasn't been a class where I don't feel totally flooded with joy.
I feel Ruth really has an incredible way of holding space and guiding my attention into the movement within the experience of my body.
